BAC Law was founded by Bernadine Abella-Chua, a lawyer licensed in both Ontario and the Philippines. Her legal training began with a Juris Doctor degree from Ateneo de Manila University. For more than ten years, she practised law in the Philippines, building experience across litigation and client advisory. After moving to Canada, she completed the Law Practice Program at Toronto Metropolitan University and was admitted as a barrister and solicitor by the Law Society of Ontario.
Before and alongside law, her background spans science and finance. She graduated from Philippine Science High School Main Campus, studied Chemical Engineering at the University of the Philippines, found her passion in finance, and obtained a degree in Accounting from Miriam College. In Canada, she worked as an accountant and payroll administrator for five years and holds a Payroll Compliance Professional credential from the National Payroll Institute.
Bernadine’s years of practice as a lawyer, together with a deep understanding of how law translates into payroll practices and employer processes, provide BAC Law with the legal insight and technical expertise to advise on workplace disputes, employment contracts, payroll issues and employer obligations.
Founded by an immigrant, BAC Law understands both the procedural requirements and the personal stakes of immigration matters, and uses that perspective to guide clients through documentation, timelines and expectations.
Bernadine also has substantial experience in wills and estates, advising on estate planning, executor duties, probate and estate administration. Her attention to detail, sharpened by years of transactional work and financial training, additionally supports BAC Law’s real estate services, from contract review and title issues to closings.
At BAC Law, we combine technical expertise, legal experience, and financial knowledge to deliver clear and practical advice tailored to each client. If you’d like to discuss your situation, please contact us to schedule a consultation. We will listen and help you determine the best next steps.
